Positive Thoughts, Positive Results

The Power of Positivity

The most powerful force in the human psyche is how we describe ourselves to ourselves in my opinion. I fully believe that the words that follow, “I am…” follow you throughout the day. For instance if you wake up and think, “I am awesome!” it sets the bar for you to be just that. Awesome. I personally tell myself everyday that I am a winner (I am just a tad bit competitive) and I am in fact a winner in everything I do.

The Law of Attraction

It goes hand in hand with the concept of the Law of Attraction. If you have never read The Secret, I strongly advise you to. It is amazing how positive thoughts can reflect in your life.  The same goes for negative thoughts and how they can weigh you down. Our thoughts have a significant influence on our external realities. This can be a game changer when looking for a new job. I suggest imagining yourself where you want to be, and train your thoughts to make it happen. Everyday you should reflect on positive traits you possess that can put you ahead. Invest in yourself by bringing those traits to light and focusing on them.

How to Hone in on a Positive Mentality

Meditation

People who meditate daily tend to display more positive emotions than those who do not. Meditation can increase mindfulness, purpose in life, social support, and can decrease symptoms of illness.

Writing

Writing is a great way to get thoughts down where you can look at them and train your brain into committing to them. It allows you to clarify your thoughts and feelings, thereby you gain valuable self-knowledge.

Music

Listening to upbeat music that increases your heart rate and puts you in a good mood does wonders. Listening to songs with positive affirmations in the lyrics resonates in the soul. I know sports teams often have anthems they play to get them fully charged for a win. Pick a song that you can relate to and makes you feel invincible.

Positive Thinking as a Tool

The power of positive thinking is vital for success. It goes hand in hand with work ethic and persistence. A positive attitude is a major tool in the workforce and you can definitely train yourself to have one if you do not possess a natural positive attitude. A person with a positive mentality anticipates happiness, health, and success. Believe that you can overcome any obstacle or difficulty and you have the first tool needed to overcome instantly… a positive attitude.
